Crabgrass Control

Crabgrass, once established in your lawn will not go away unless it is treated.  The best way to treat crabgrass is preventatively. If you catch it early before it spreads too far, it is easy to pull out before it goes to seed. This is best done in July and after the lawn has received water. Once it has gone to seed, or you have larger areas of crabgrass, the area may have to be dug out or killed with horticultural vinegar or a similar product. When the crabgrass has died, the area will need top soil and seed. The only product available to treat crabgrass at present is corn gluten and it is an inhibitor only that is applied in the spring. People and pets may resume activity on the lawn immediately after the application.
